Overview

Airtable is a web-based, no-code platform that combines the familiar feel of a spreadsheet with a relational database. It is not a purpose-built asset management system. Instead, teams build their own asset register in it, with one record per asset and fields for photos, status, location, owner, purchase date or anything else they need to track.

That flexibility is the appeal for asset management. Airtable offers forms for logging or requesting assets, calendar and other views of the same data, automations, and integrations with tools such as Slack, Google Drive, Salesforce and Jira. Its mobile app can scan barcodes into a record. There is a free plan to get started, and paid plans are priced per user. Airtable is US-based, so support is overseas, and the quality of the system depends on how well it is set up.

How Airtable works with our labels

Airtable's mobile app can scan barcodes into a record, so each Online Asset Labels tag can be matched to an asset in your base. Give every asset a unique ID in Airtable, have us print that ID as a QR code or barcode with sequential numbering, then scan a label to jump straight to its record. Durable anodised aluminium and laminated polypropylene labels keep that link working on assets that are outdoors, handled often or washed down.
